Austin Residence – California Desert House with Passive Ventilation Techniques

California Desert House with Passive Ventilation Techniques

This house is built in the desert but this house offers comfort and longevity. Lloyd Russel, the architect of this house creates a smart solution for his project Austin Residence near Palm Springs, California. The house uses recycled materials for its construction with culture sensitive for its appearance and ambiance. The result of the aesthetic work is a contemporary home reminiscent of an old West outpost that captures the essence of desert living.

Due to the hot summer months, the house is completed with the mechanics of passive ventilation. There is continuous shade for the house provided by steel shade canopy. The other methods of passive ventilation include movable walls and windows around the home that can open to allow cool winds pass through.
