Modern Tree House – New Idea in Residential

modern tree house

This unique home has 1,800-sq.-ft total floor area. It sets on a steep escarpment and surrounded by 150 years old birch and oak trees located in Raleigh, North Carolina. The house is Strickland-Ferris Residence, designed by Frank Harmon Architect. The home lies high above ground on wood trusses and concrete piers. The facade of the house is composed by glass and steel material; it blends between the raw outdoors and the modern interior. The floors are finished with glossy cherry-wood, the columns and beams are using exposed wood while the staircase is constructed with salvaged steel.
