The Boles House is the retreat house on a spit of land between Slab Creek, the Pacific Ocean, and the preserved lands of the Siuslaw National Forest, the tiny hamlet of Neskowin, Oregon. The house design adopted the northwest style, which is incorporating Scandinavian and Japanese architectural traditions. The house features clean lines, minimal adornment, local materials (particularly wood), and abundant natural light. The design responds to the two natural wonders of ocean and trees by creating multiple views. This three stories house has communal living and eating areas on the top floor, and the rest floors defined to be bedrooms and a studio.
