The Contemporary House Design in La Zagaleta, Spain

On a hillside site inland from the coast of southern Spain, this contemporary house was built. The design of this house is calm and flowing space but simplicity in detail, considering the topography and climate of the site. The British architect Peter Thomas de Cruz has broke the ordinary of the recent pseudo-vernacular development in this site area.

From inside the house, the picturesque of a valley towards distant mountains in the west can be viewed. The interiors are so spacious and flooded with the natural light. The cross ventilation is applied to bring the breeze into the room. The large glazed windows combined with the sun shading create ideal air conditionings which bring the comfort to the living area. The house design is more calm and cool with the accent of water feature. The water is flowing from the gallery courtyard pool down over a slate-finished waterfall beneath the dining room to meet the lower of the two connected swimming pools.
