The Minimalist House Design of the Orb House

The Orb House is located in Melbourne, Australia on a uniue site toward the Yarra River and Yarra Bend Gold Course. The design was inspired by the dwellings of ancient Pompeii. Bojan Simic, the Australian architect who designed this Orb House, wants to create the central courtyard typolosy and all living, working and entertaining orbits around it. The living area is in the rim and the sleeping area beyond it. This separation is defined by a curved central spare wall.

The exterior performs the aesthetic of minimalist design through the geometry form. The composition is strengthened palette of materials and textures. The curtain walls which are frameless thermal glass create a dramatic aspect and light.
