 The Minimalist Contemporary House Design in Japan

Masahiro and Mao Harada from Mount Fuji Architects Studio have done the creative project for their client. The project is a minimalist weekend villa located in the mountainside, in popular holiday area renown for its hot springs, in Shizuoka Prefecture on Japan’s main island of Honshu.

 The Minimalist Contemporary House Design in Japan

Named as Plus House, this retreat house consists of two floors with Pacific Ocean views and the surrounding scenery. As the name, the building’s main blocks at 90-degree angles forming a cross, or a plus sign. The private rooms and a bath are placed on the lower level.

The house’s exterior is finished in white water-polished marble entirely. While the interior is also covered in white marble that reflects the blue light from the south (ocean) and green light from the west (forest).
