This construction was established by 4 small houses in a place near the sea. The natural house was built with traditional methods using wood and a traditional stem. It was established on the sand that is a natural and abundant material that was transported to the interior of the common places (the living room and the kitchen). This way gave the connection between the environment and the new and totally integrated construction. This project was the most spectacular, being on the living room with feet on the sand. It was a totally comfortable construction even with warming floor that warmed up the sand.

The openings of the Venice Architecture Biennale 2010 where Lisbon firm Aires Mateus Architects were showed the unique houses with sandy floors. The photograph was by Nelson Garrido. It was called Casa Areia. The house design consisted of seaside accommodation made of wooden frames covered in natural fibres. The floor was covered by the sand in the kitchen and living space. It connected them to the beach and landscape outside. Bedrooms were positioned in separate structures. The Venice Architecture Biennale took place 29 August – 21 November 2010.

Vivian Dwyer from via Dwyer Design has done a redesign project of wonderful timber house design. This natural house was originally designed by Daniel Liebermann (who apprenticed with Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West) in 1960. Named as Radius House, this 1,000-sq.-ft house was designed to insert the modern elements into the old earthy house.

The new design includes a kitchen redesign, refurbished concrete floors, wood beams, metal pipes and exposed brick walls were covered with cool, clean plaster. There are some functions located at the back of the house such as master bedroom and bathing area combination, a separate powder room and dressing area. The main feature of the house as the name is a circular floor plan with living areas radiating outward. There are also fabulous features like a lovely stone fireplace and the built-in bathtub beckons with its earthy luxury.

The other wonderful thing offered by this house design is that breathtaking views of the giant redwood forest outdoors can be viewed from every room. The house provides a warm natural glow, thanks to a skylight at the heart of the home that floods the house with natural light and also the floor-to-ceiling glass walls addition.
