This house in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan was designed for a couple by Shun Hirayama. The site is a mountainside that overviews a sea and a city. The concept design is creating feeling of walking on the hillside inside the house. So the design was considered what is should be there on a hill.

The house features a kitchen and a dining space near a road that becomes an approach, a living space at a good view point, bedrooms at positions to look out the hill, a bathroom at an airy location and some other things. The interior was designed to flow like walking on between the trees. The floors finished in wood to match the assorted atmosphere are laid like carpets. In the center of a concrete floor that meets the ground, thin trees are arranged so as to look like a path between rice paddies.

This residential building was built with a central pool courtyard which is enclosed by the main living space and master suit. A series of floor to ceiling mahogany and glass sliding panels open onto the courtyard create a mixing between the interior and exterior. The interior is protected from the harsh Texas sun with the deep overhangs roof along the spaces which face the pool, while provide the covered outdoor living area.

Wernerfield Architects have designed the Glenwood Residence by following the natural site topography. The courtyard can be accessed through a steel gate and series of stone walls. This modern house is intended to sit calmly in its natural surroundings which are dominated by a massive oak. The Glenwood Residence is a natural house which is eco-friendly with some sustainable design features such as geothermal heating and cooling, energy star appliances, regional building materials (such as Granbury Texas limestone), and a high performance building envelope.

This Kyneton house is a single story house located in Kyneton, Victoria, Australia. This house is facing to the north generously. The house is stretching east to west across the site where the roof was designed to let the interior flooded by the northern natural light. The sustainable design is applied to manage the thermal performance. In order to manage the ample thermal mass to the south, there are double glazed windows to the north, long eaves, and sub-floor airspace to stabilize the diurnal range. The needs of water for the toilets, laundry and garden are supplied by the rainwater from the roofs which is harvested with a screened water tank in the front of the house. The Three Stone house in Austin Texas, boasts a natural design of architecture. The natural ventilation is served by the high and low openings. Stone is the dominant materials which reflects of the narrow canyon and create the strong ambiance of natural environment. The location of this house is in Shelter Island, New York. The YN-13 house was designed by New York-based architectural firm Morris Sato Studio, which was inspired by inspired by historic Japanese residential structures in Kyoto and Kanazawa, Japan. The house designed as three free standing mass those are the main house, the guest house, and garage. These three volumes are enclosing a courtyard with a pool in its center. The exterior wall is cladding with bleached vertical battens and clapboard siding combined with stainless steel roofing. This mixing is resulting in harmony of texture appearance between the wall and the roof.
