TH House with an Elegant and Sober Feel in Tokyo from Baqueratta

TH House, which was located in Tokyo, Japan, came from Baqueratta, an architecture firm specialized in designing minimalist homes. With a simple and immaculate appearance, this modern house was a great symbol of Japan’s modern residential architecture. A giant concrete rectangle breached by only a few windows was resembled in its exterior. Characterized by elegance and simplicity, an indication of the contemporary arrangements inside was given in the house design. In most rooms, there was an opening towards a central green area, invaded by light. Creating a small oasis, a common “practice” for most of the modern home designs, this way nature was brought indoors. The interior design was truly charming in its ascetic decorations. Seemed to inspire a sober, faultless atmosphere, the unadorned rooms were very stylish.

Modern House Design in Hill by Cell Space Architects

To directly connect to its surroundings by moulding its shape after the terrain, House in Hill was designed. This modern house in Gunma, Japan, was designed by Cell Space Architects as a response to the natural environment surrounding it. Following the topographic contours, there was one storey above grade and one storey below grade. Defining the space by allowing the structure to borrow the shape of the hillside, the natural inclination of the site was exploited to its advantage. Offering extensive panoramas of the surroundings, the terrace wrapped around trees and undulated. Beams on the roof, a sense of extending interior space was created. Inside, under a modern roof, the inhabitants were gathered in spaces defined by light and connectivity to the outside. Constructed on a timber frame and using reinforced concrete, an atmosphere connecting outside and inside spaces was fabricated by the architects of the House on Hill.
