This house was built using steel and concrete which were discarded from Boston’s Big Dig. This effort can utilize over 600,000 lbs of salvaged materials from elevated portions of the dismantled I-93 highway for the structural system. The higher loads can be carried with these prefab-like systems. Also, it is possible to create a roof garden in large scale. This reuse materials method can save the valuable resources, embodied energy, and taxpayer dollars. This house was designed by SsD Architecture.
