Small House
Surrounded by rice fields, “a small house” that the idyllic atmosphere and landscape was planned of the small design.
Considering factors such as connection of garden and room, entrance of light, ventilation, flow line of daily activities, etc, firstly the entire volume of the house was divided into individual rooms. Meeting with the demand for a guest parking lot and family garden, the rooms were placed across the site to secure two exterior spaces. Continued…

The primary architecture of the Paraty House was made up by two rectangular reinforced concrete blocks sitting atop of each other. The rectangular house cantilevered 8 meters outwards from the mountainside, located between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, on one of the islands near Paraty City. An exceptional secluded home where the inhabitants arrived after by boat was the box house, reaching towards the Brazilian coast. Offering the inhabitants a modern residence that penetrated nature to make room for comfortable living, the topography found here sustained the architecture of the modern house.
