Brief: Restructuring and extending a house. The Budget was 360,000 €. ex tax. The NSA was 232 sq m (114 sq m restructured + 118 sq m new build). It was completed in 2005-2011.

Inbetween House Design in Japan by Koji Tsutsui Architect & Associates
It was located in Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan. The Architect was Koji Tsutsui Architect & Associates, Koji Tsutsui, Satoshi Ohkami. The Structural Engineers were ANARCHItects(CG), Hirotsugu Tsuboi. The General contractor was Sasazawa Construction, Inc. The Photographer was Iwan Baan. The Site Area was 1956.16m2. The Floor Area was 178.43m2. It was completed in 2010.
As their ideal location for their home where they can retreat from their busy work in the city, the sloped site surrounded by Japanese larch trees and located in a mountainous region, an hour away from Tokyo on a bullet train, were chosen. Continued…
