Light House – A Linear Wooden Beach House

This house located in Long Island, NY, United States. The architect of this modern house, Steven Holl is inspired by the close proximity to the studio of the painter Jackson Pollock. Several free-form designs were made based on the 1949 painting “Seven in Eight.” The south side is closed for privacy because the interior is opening up to the bay and the north side is viewing the Atlantic Ocean. This house has double living room with guest rooms swirl around them. The house has the strips of white light inscribe and seasonally bend internal spaces dynamically with the daily cycle. The balloon frame construction is comparable to the strip wood sand dune fencing along the ocean.

A Modern House with Glass Roof

This house is sited in a conservation area in Hackney. The ground floor was opened up and extended to the back of the house. This make a flow into each other and to the garden is possible. A concrete floor becomes a unifier between the kitchen and the patio, so as the London stock brick garden wall. In this area, there is an expansive glass roof opens up the view to the sky. This house has modern style with strong natural character, shown by the materials used to finish the building.
