This is house design idea in Bowen Island designed by Calgary-based Sturgess Architecture. Stand up 100m above the water, this wooden house facing the north on a steep cliff overlooking Howe Sound. The dwellers are a couple with their two children who like to serve the visitors and extended family. The house was created to be a primary residence and guest house which is integrated in a single roof. This country style house design looks natural with its finished slate, cedar shingles and copper colored roof.

This house takes a site on a grazing pasture, the last parcels of undeveloped property fronting East Leavenworth Road. Leavenworth Cabin designed to slope slightly downward a drainage swale before beginning its upward ascent. There is a retaining wall in C-shaped. Along the west side of the house, there is a single shed roof with extensive overhang shields the extensive glazing. On the south end of the house is a large room houses the living, dining, and kitchen. To the north end of plan, there is a children’s playroom with three bedrooms in the center.
